The Partiologist: Baking Party!

Baking Party!

I'm so excited about this next post - it's a party for a little girl!!!

This Summer I was asked to teach cookie decorating for Sadie's 8th Birthday Baking Party.   At first I was a little hesitant, I had never done anything like that, in fact, I don't even feel comfortable having my mom watch me decorate!

Baking Party

So, you're all invited to come with me to Sadie's Baking Party!

It was sooooooooooo much fun to get to just enjoy all the decor and not lift a finger putting it together!

It turned out fantastic and thought I would share some of the photos I took at the party.

I arrived a little early with all my decorating gear in tow and was greeted by the sweet little birthday girl Sadie.

She's ready to get this baking party started!

After being greeted by Sadie we both went inside through the decorated front door.

There were alot of "Oh my goodness, this is sooooooo cute" moments!

This table was all set up for the girls to have cake and ice cream after decorating all the cookies and cupcakes.

Notice the flowers at the top of each place setting?

They were made out of cupcake papers and coffee filters!

Another view of the delicious table.

Here's another cute little touch in the corner of the kitchen.

And more cupcake paper garland was strung from the cupboards.

The back splash behind the cook top was covered in wrapping paper and another banner was hung.

How cute is this cupcake paper garland?

Each birthday guest was treated to their very own chef's hat and personalized apron (made by Sadie's very talented grandmother)!

On the center island - a very sweet welcome sign.

Even the water was all dressed up.

More pretty pink flowers and cupcake papers displayed.

Cupcakes ready to be decorated.

There was even more décor in the family room where the gifts were placed.

It looks like it's growing cupcakes around here!

What a festive display of treats!

More cupcake décor and a slushy machine out on the back porch!

And a Giant Cupcake!

Lots of fun things to decorate with.

Sadie having a good time.

Here's her sweet little baking birthday cake.

And I almost forgot to mention, her mom ordered some cupcake cookies for the party.

Here they are all packaged up and ready to go home with the little bakers.

When I came to the party, I brought a special little treat for Sadie.

This was such a fun experience and the little girls were eager to learn and easy to teach.
It went so well and no one even tried to escape!  I have a such a good teaching experience to look back

Happy Baking!

In the photo where you talk about the slushy machine on the back porch what is that piece between the two candy dishes ?
It looks like icing or ice cream over flowing is that decor or really edible ?
    Love it,
    Thanks!

  10. Hi Kim,

I am from Australia and have just discovered your great blog!

I love the cookies that you make. I am only new to the cookie making and was wondering if you could tell me how you make that beaded effect when you flood your cookies?

    Thanks
    Angela

  11. Hi Angela! Welcome to my blog and thank you for commenting! I use a round tip and pipe the dots in a continuing motion. Hope this helps!

  13. Pipe little dots in a line by connecting each one, that is probably the best way I can describe it.
