Homemade Hot Chocolate!

HOMEMADE HOT CHOCOLATE
This is Haute Monday!
And I found a recipe from Martha that I could use in my next Candy Corn project.
I have made cocoa cones for Christmas with the marshmallows and peppermint and so I thought, why not make some for Halloween. You know, Cute Candy Corn Halloween!
Here's the recipe Martha uses~

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon table salt
  • Whole milk for serving

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine sugar, cocoa, and salt, and whisk to combine well. Store the mixture in an airtight container.
  2. For individual servings, pour 1 cup whole milk into a microwave-safe mug, and microwave on high just until hot. Add 2 tablespoons of cocoa mix, and stir to dissolve. For a larger batch of cocoa, warm the milk in a saucepan set over medium-low heat, taking care not to let the milk boil; as it warms, stir in 2 tablespoons of mix for each cup of milk.
(I don't use as much salt!)

I think I came up with a cute way to package these.  I found some cone shaped bags at Hobby Lobby and filled them up with the cocoa.  Then added some mini marshmallows and candy corn.  See, cute huh?
And I really loved the bows!
Please pretend that there is no cocoa powder on the marshmallows.  I really didn't want to remake them just for the photo!

Got Candy Corn?

  8. Kim, Forgot to say on the other blog that turning those wine glasses upside down and placing the cupcake on them is just brilliant.
