The Partiologist: The Barkery!

The Barkery!

You might think I spelled the title of my post wrong.  Nope, it is The Barkery, a place where I made all of Maxine's favorite treats to share with all the others at the paw-ty.  Come, Sit and Stay awhile so I can show you all the Barkery Treats!

The Barkery

I found all the dog bowls at the dollar store - they were just purr-fect!  (Oops, no cats allowed!)
First let's take a look at all the treats on the white shag rug~

The top left black dog dish that looks empty because of my fabulous photography, held the Milk Bone Dog Biscuits!

NOTE:  These are not actually for dogs, but for humans.

The only dog present at this party was ceramic.

I rolled out chocolate cookie dough and cut out bone shapes.

Imprinted the name MAX on each cookie and baked.

The top middle dog dish held Bitty Bone S'mores!

Max dreamed about them for a long time before the paw-ty.

Start with Jet-Puffed Stacker Mallows.

Cut out tiny bones with a mini cookie cutter.

Then I crushed up graham crackers and put them in a bowl.

Try not to eat the Hershey's after they are unwrapped, because you'll need to melt them.

As soon as the chocolate is melted,

dip the ends of the mini bones in the chocolate.

Immediately sprinkle with the crushed graham crackers.

(I froze the marshmallow bones first, so they would be easier to handle).

Lay out on wax paper until the chocolate has hardened.

Seal or freeze until needed so the marshmallows don't dry out.

Up next is Kibbles & Bits~

You won't find this recipe ANY where on the web.

Because there isn't a recipe.

All I did was start with a sheet of parchment paper on a cookie sheet and started adding Bits like:

Chocolate Chips, Peanut Butter Chips, Micro Mini Marshmallows, Peanuts, Dried Cranberries and Pretzels.
Then I popped it in a warm oven and let the chips melt a bit.

After I took the pan out of the oven I added Banana Chips and drizzled more Chocolate over the top.

Let the chocolate harden and break it into Kibbles.

Okay, now there IS a recipe on the web!  :)

The bottom left dog bowl held the Gravy Train.

Not sure why I called this Gravy Train, because there was no gravy.  But a lot of Train.

Chocolate Covered Pretzels Bites!

And there are also No step by step photos.

What I can tell you is this:  Instead of dipping each pretzel in the melted chocolate, I melted the chocolate, poured in the pretzels and stirred until all the pretzels were coated.

Then I placed each individual one on parchment paper to dry.

That is why they don't have a smooth surface, which makes them look more like dog food, right?

Last but not least, and definitely one of the favorites was the Puppy Chow~

And that recipe is in my recipe file and everywhere on the web.

No step by step photos of that either.  This pooch must be getting dog gone tired.  And you may be tired too, looking at all these doggy treats!  And hungry.  So why don't you go and whip up a batch of doggy treats for your little pooches??  Or come back to see more...

  1. Your milk bones are perfect. It's so fun to have MAX printed on each bone. The s'mores bones are so clever, really so clever! Did you give your guests doggy bags to bring home extra treats?

  10. Love the serving dishes! This reminds me of many years ago I made molded chocolate dog bones, placed them in a new dog bowl and brought them to my niece's 5 year-old birthday party (it was a dog theme). She was afraid to eat the chocolates because she thought they were real dog bones. Today she is a vet tech ;)

  17. I hope your not ACTUALLY feeding these to your dogs because chocolate is toxic to them and too much WILL KILL them! If you could differentiate between what is supposed to be for humans and what is intended for pets that would be really awesome. Otherwise people might be confused and feed these to their dog. really cool ideas though.

    1. Are you serious? None of the treats are for DOGS, they are meant for only human consumption, that is why NO dogs were even allowed at this party. The party was for my ceramic dog Maxine! All the info was posted earlier and you may have missed that part. :)
