The Partiologist: Edible Christmas Candle Cakes!

Edible Christmas Candle Cakes!

The title says it all...Edible Christmas Candles!  Years ago when I found this candle holder, I knew what I wanted to do with it.  So I couldn't wait when the time finally came to make the candle cakes.  And now you can light your candle and eat it too!

Christmas Candle Cakes

I knew I had a winner when I asked my husband to come and see my latest creation.  He tried to sound enthusiastic and said "Oh, you added greenery to the candles!".  "Well, not quite", I told him, "these are edible candles with battery operated flickering flames"!

And this is how I made them.

I'm going to let the pictures do most of the talking...

I've been sick and my voice is kind of raspy.

Empty out seven cans of tomato sauce, wash and dry.

Line baking sheet with wax paper and spray inside each can with Pam.

Fill almost half full of desired cake batter - I used white.

Bake and cool and then flip out of pan.

Measure battery operated candle on top of cake and with cookie cutter, remove a small section out of the top for the candle to fit.

Place each candle on a gold paper doily.

Pipe white frosting around the outside of the cake - no need to be perfect.

Roll and measure fondant to fit around cake.

Cute to size and wrap around the cake.  Smooth with fondant smoother.

Sprinkle the outside with edible gold glitter.

Roll and cut another piece of fondant to look like the candle is dripping.

Lay and smooth fondant on the top of the candle, using the same cookie cutter, cut the fondant in the middle and press down.

Turn the battery operated candle on and place in candle cake.

Watch them glow!

Watch me sparkle... I'm still covered in glitter!

Glow With the Flow!
