The Partiologist: Valentine Mail Box Cake Pops!

Valentine Mail Box Cake Pops!

You've Got Mail!

Well, you could have mail...Edible Mail.  This mailbox idea has been floating around in my head since last Valentine's Day.  I knew I had to make room for more ideas and get this one out of the way.  Here it is, a Valentine Mail Box Cake Pop, complete with a few love letters.

Mail Box Cake Pop

No reason not to check this mail box, you can see it's bursting with love...from me to you!

Let's get to it shall we?

Mix up your favorite cake pop mixture - pinch it together to make sure it is nice and sticky.

Press a large amount into a brownie cutter (or shape it by hand) slide out and cut in half.

Make the flag and other fondant decorations for the mailbox a day ahead of time allowing them to dry.

Using a teensy weensy heart cutter, I cut hearts out of red fondant.

Place the heart on the flag and make an indentation with the tip of a round decorating tip.

Using XO stamps, press into white fondant.

More photos of the fondant process.

Let all the love letters set overnight.

Now it's time to dip the mailbox.

Melt Vanilla CandiQuik and add Red Candy Coloring.

After you dip the mailbox, sprinkle with red sanding sugar, let it dry.

Place the mailbox on a piece of red fondant and cut to form the bottom of the mailbox.

Cut a hole in the red fondant for the straw.
Using royal icing, add the mailbox to the fondant.

Add the letters to the mailbox with royal icing.
Now it's time to mail your letters!

Please Mr. Postman look and see...If there's a Cake Pop in your bag for me?

Please, Please, Mr. Postman!

  12. These are really a sweet idea and your mailbox box dipping is perfect. The only thing I've ever dipped is chocolate cookie balls and I never can do it without making a mess.

    1. Well, Paula, I usually make quite a mess when I dip too. Notice I didn't show any photos of the dipping process - lol! :)
