The Partiologist: Organize!

Organize!

With all my parties and creations, I am often asked...Where on earth do you store all of your stuff treasures?  Well, I have a system and it starts with my Label Maker!

ORGANIZE!

This was a birthday gift from my friends several years ago.  One of the best gifts ever!  Would you believe over the years I have received a 10' ladder, tool box, cordless screwdriver, Swiffer sweeper and more, as Birthday/Christmas gifts?  I guess I'm a girly girl with tools, however, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, if you know what I mean.

On to my Storage Room/Home Gym.

Yes, it's where I work out, don't feel sorry for me.  Once I open a door, it's inspiration.

These are the three storage units I purchased at Sam's Club several years ago.  Yep, I even hauled them home and unloaded them myself, by pushing them out of the truck with my feet.  Where there's a will there's a way, right?  The insides are filled with dishes, lots and lots of dishes, serving trays, and more serving trays.  The top of the storage units are bins filled with party stuff, each labeled with the contents.

After you see this photo, you might start to feel sorry for me again.

Most people may watch T.V. while they work out, no, not me.  I look at two water heaters and drawers full of Christmas Cookie Cutters, all sorted out according to theme.  During the holidays, I bring up the three sets of drawers and put them in my pantry, so I don't have to run up and down to gather cutters.

Please don't feel sorry for me, because I also have this to look at...

Yes, these are more cookie cutters, labeled and alphabetized.  And full to the brim.  Why is it then that I always seem to need a new shape?  And if those cutters are not enough to keep me entertained while working out, this is...

More drawers filled with party stuff and labeled.  Seriously it's pure entertainment.
I'll pull open a drawer or two and plan the day.

Now on to the BIG BINS...I'm talking major storage here people~

Walking into another small room off the Storage Room/Home Gym, you'll find more bins filled with party stuff, which I am able to see at a glance the precious contents it holds.  The walls are lined up to the top, as far as I could go with clear bins.

In the corner, I added the deep storage bins...

Placing the ones I rarely use, in the back corner.

Over on the other side of the room are bins holding current holiday supplies...

And in between both walls is the step ladder so any storage bin is at my fingertips.

Now you can see how narrow this room actually is.  I call this my weight room because the bins are sometimes quite heavy and lifting them is a real work out.
And yes, all the bins need to be matching...the size, the lid and most important the color.  White.  Once these bins are discontinued, I could possibly go into a deep depression.  Until then, I'm a happy camper, full to the brim with BINS!

  7. I love organization and clear boxes and I have the same label maker! What a great post! When the clear tubs I bought for my cookie cutters stopped being carried at Costco I went into a panic and had to buy all new ones from the Dollar Tree so they would all match...LOL I love seeing how everyone keeps their things organized... You have a lot of great stuff!!

  15. My Mom used to say that if a person's kitchen and bathrooms were clean & organized, it was a pretty sure thing that the rest of their home was too. Judging from your storage/work-out room I'm guessing that your home is spotless! I love organization and cleanliness....keeps the stress and anxiety levels way down. P.S. You must go through a ton of labeling tape!!

  20. OMG!!! That is amazing!!! PLEASE, PLEASE come over and organize my stuff!!! I have a spare bedroom filled with arts/craft supplies, rubber stamps, tons of scrapbook paper, die cut machines, basket supplies, etc. This room is so stuffed, it's really hard to navigate!! My cookie cutters are stored in 3 different areas. I only have the copper ones(461), inventoried with photos in a binder and sorted and stored in labeled bins!

I had to print out your collection of bins to show my husband that I'm not the only one with a lot of "stuff!" Of course he had to comment on how your stuff is neatly organized and mine has taken over part of the house!

  21. Oh my goodness! I think we must be kindred spirits! I just came across your blog through Pinterest and I'm hooked! We have a very similar addiction. Mine tends to be more plates, linens, glasses, flatware and all of things to go with them. I love your organization!!!

I also host a weekly link party called Seasonal Sundays. The link opens at 7 pm EST Saturday. I'd love to have you link this post.

But if you're up for a bit of exploring, you should check out my posts in June in the past years. June is my blog-aversary and I host a party called "Where do you keep it all?" I share where I keep it and others link showing where they keep it.

Now that I'm inspired by your organization, I need to explore the rest of your blog!

  22. Hi Kim,

It is so funny that you posted this now. Before I left for my trip I took pictures of all my storage too. I had planned to do a giveaway of a bunch of extra stuff. We sure do think alike!!!

I am not surprised by all of your stuff. I could tell just by seeing all the amazing parties you've hosted, that you had a lot of great stuff. I am, however, in awe of your organization.

I love how many comments you've gotten from others who have rooms full of crafting supplies. We surely aren't alone:)

  23. How did you make the bins that are stacked (separate bins that are stackable, not a part of a connected unit)- not cave in and become hard to slide the drawers out? It’s the fifth picture labeled, “ More drawers filled with party stuff and labeled. Seriously it's pure entertainment.
I'll pull open a drawer or two and plan the day. ”

    1. Most everything in the bins are paper goods or light weight supplies, so they are not heavy enough to make them hard to open. The supplies that may be a bit heavier, I placed in the bottom drawers. Hope this helps!
