The Partiologist: Birthday Cookies!

Birthday Cookies!

Have you heard of Wilton sugar sheets or have you ever used Wilton sugar sheets?  Well, it's a quick and easy way to decorate a cookie.  After finding the colorful baskets, I knew these cookies would be a perfect fit. Topped with the edible paper, it's A Party on a Cookie!

Birthday Cookies!

When I packaged them up, it became a party in a basket~

After letting the frosting set overnight, I carefully stacked the cookies in the basket and tied it with a tag.

I didn't ask if any were smashed, I just hoped for the best.

Let's make them, I know you want to~

The sugar sheets came in strips, with gift designs and a border, which I think were to be used on a cake.

Only I wasn't making a cake, I was making cookies.

So this is what I did...I baked round cookies a little larger then the gift design, piped buttercream frosting with a Wilton #9 tip in a spiral covering the entire cookie.

These little gifts punched right off the sheet -Yea, no breakage!

Then I put a gift on each round cookie before the frosting dried.

Now for the confetti, I cut out and baked rectangle cookies and cut the border (confetti) into pieces.

Frosted each cookie with the same #9 Wilton tip and then topped with the confetti.

See those baskets?  Yep, it was meant to be.

And now all my cookies are ready for the party.

My cookies get to have all the fun!

Happy Birthday Oliver!

  1. I haven't used the Wilton Sugar Sheets. They do look like the next best thing to an edible printer (without all the extra expense) and a lot of fun too. Great looking cookies!

    1. Really, that was just what I was thinking - those printers are pricey!

  2. I've used the whole sugar sheets but have not seen these tiny strips.I need to check those out. What a quick and easy way to decorate a cookie. I used to have an edible printer, but if you don't use it all the time it clogs up, and you have to buy a new one, which I did, and it clogged up too. I like the idea of pre-printed sheets.

    1. I've always wondered about an edible printer and figured it was too good to be true, the pre printed sheets were perfect. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen them lately...
