The Partiologist: Caramel Apples!

Caramel Apples!

As I sit to write this post, I am finding it hard to be excited about spring because it is snowing.  Seriously, it's cold and snowing like a winter day, but I won't let it stop me from sending flowers your way.  And as you probably already know, I'm not talking about fresh flowers.

Caramel Apples

I am talking about fresh apples.  Fresh caramel apples topped with flowers.

I'm going to tell you what I did to make them...and then I'm going to tell you how to make them easy breezy.

Buying the ingredients was not the hard part.

Silk flowers, corn skewers and green apples.

I'm not sure why I found it necessary to make home made caramel, but I did.

I used my favorite Ghirardelli dark chocolate melting wafers and pecan chips.

Wash and insert sticks into the apples.  Okay, so far so good.

Dip the apples in the warm caramel.

This is where it went wrong, the caramel was sliding off the apple faster then I could roll them around in pecans.

So I just decided it would be a big surprise when the bottom of the apple was full of thick caramel and pecans!

I almost forgot, melt the chocolate and drizzle over the apples~

Sprinkles with jimmies to match the flowers and place in a large cupcake wrapper.

If you love chocolate covered caramel apples like I do, you'll need to quickly wrap them up.

Here's the part where I'll tell you how to make them easy breezy.

Run down to your nearest chocolate factory and buy the caramel apples, come home and drizzle with chocolate and sprinkles, top with a flower, wrap and call it a day.

As long as I'm out in my garden, I thought I would show you what else I found.

Butterflies, beautiful butterflies.

Sitting atop a tube of beautiful shimmery gumballs.

Did you even know gumballs come this pretty?

Well, I'm telling you now, they do!

They are made by the same company who makes Sixlets - SweetWorks!

Fill your tubes with the shimmery gum and top with a sparkly butterfly.

Sit back and enjoy the view, it's like a vacation in a tube!

Let the Sun SHINE!
