The Partiologist: You've Got Arrow Mail!

You've Got Arrow Mail!

You've Got Arrow Mail!  I've been wanting to say that for a long time and today I can because, well, You've Got Arrow Mail (cookies).  Not knowing how I was going to make them, I just knew I wanted to make them.

You've Got Arrow Mail

Two kitchen gadgets I use all the time (not only for cooking) are a rolling mincer and a zester.

Last fall, I was introduced to a new brand of products called Crisp.  And CRISP they are, not only in the design, the quality of the tools are wonderful.

So many wonderful Crisp products - view them all HERE.

Besides cookie cutters and straws, the rolling mincer and the 4 in 1 zester is all you need.

Let me show you how.

After making the sugar cookie dough, roll it out.

Cut out a rectangle cookie (you could always use a knife).

Turn the cutter around and cut off the top of the rectangle, then move it to the bottom and remove a chunk.  Now you've got the tail end of the arrow.

Of course, you've got to cut a heart.  Once the cookies are baked and cooled, begin flooding the cookies with royal icing.

Here's where the tools come in.

Roll out a piece of white fondant.

Using the Crisp Rolling Mincer, slice the fondant into long strips.

Take one of the strips and begin rolling into a spiral until you get a tiny rose.

Turn over and trim the bottom with a knife so it lays flat.

Now with the multi Crisp 4 in 1 Zester and a white Wilton candy melt, begin to "zest" your candy into pieces.

Pretty soon you'll have tiny little shreds of white chocolate.

If your icing had hardened, blend together a mixture of 50/50 Karo Syrup and Vodka and brush across the heart.

Sprinkle with the white chocolate zest.

The chocolate will stick to the cookie and the vodka will evaporate.  Bummer.

Place the straws on a piece of parchment paper and add a spoonful of melted white Wilton candy melts to each end.

Place the heart on one end, hold in place until he chocolate has hardened and repeat with the arrow end.

Isn't it time you add some zest to your life, with CRISP!

Made with LOVE, from me to you!

Happy Valentine's Day!

  1. I love how you used the Crisp tools to create the strips for the roses and the shreds to top the cookies. Both decorations really make the cookies pop. So fun for Valentine's Day.
