The Partiologist: Splattered Easter Cookies!

Splattered Easter Cookies!

The splatter technique is anything but new, but it is NEW to me.  I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to splatter my cookies, only wasn't sure it was as easy to do until I tried it.  Because these Easter cookies were for fun, I had nothing to lose if I messed them up, everything to gain...because I would want to eat them.

Splattered Chocolate Easter Cookies

They were fun, easy and quick.

Ready to get messy?

Seriously, not messy at all.

Bake any Easter shaped cookie.  Chocolate or regular sugar cookies.  Round or square.

Pipe on royal icing.

I covered the green leaves with a napkin, because I didn't want them splattered.  The smart thing, would have been to splatter the orange carrot BEFORE piping on the green leaves!

Dip a firm paint brush or clean toothbrush into white food color (or any color).

Flick the end of the brush on the cookie.

And there you have it...Splattered Carrots!

Splattered Eggs...

Splattered Round...

Splattered Square...

As you can see, I piped on a few lines, added royal icing roses and sprinkles.

Only, I didn't splatter my bunnies...

I sprinkled them.

With shredded coconut.

Now that I've finally splattered cookies.  I can't wait to splatter more.

Have a Sprinkled or Splattered...

Happy Easter!

  3. Way back when I was in college, I was obsessed with splattering, and even created a handmade greeting card line that I sold at the university book store. I still love splattering, but haven't done it in a while. You've just inspired me to try it out again. Love the cookies:)
