The Partiologist: "WHOO" Knew Something So Cute Could Taste So Good??

"WHOO" Knew Something So Cute Could Taste So Good??

I don't know if you got it, but this is "WHOO" I'm talking about.  A homemade Chocolate Peanut Butter Owl.  It's so cute, I wanted to name it.  But then I couldn't eat it, because you really should not eat anything you've named, right?

Chocolate Peanut Butter Owl

I'm lucky I actually got them made, because I wanted to just sit eat the chocolate and peanut butter filling and forget about making the owls.  No one would have ever been the "wiser".

So I'll warn you now, don't taste the filling to make sure it is good.  Take it from me, it is good and just keep on mixing.

I ended up with four owls, although I could have made many more.  Something happened and my sweet tooth took over my better judgment.

When I spotted the owl silicone baking mold at Hobby Lobby, at first I didn't buy it.  Then I went home and thought about it...it was one mold I didn't have and I probably should have.  What if I needed it?  What if I come up with something I could use it for?  What if it was gone?  YIKES!  I had to go back and buy the mold.

I'm glad I did.

This is why...

Just so good.

One owl is enough dessert for two, unless you're me and then it's enough for one.

Before it's too late, run and get the silicone owl mold and let's get started.

This could possibly be the reason they taste so good.

Creamy Jif

Honey Maid Graham Crackers

Milk Chocolate Chips

You need 2 cups graham cracker crumbs.  I processed crackers into crumbs with my Cuisinart.

For the Filling:
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup butter (melted)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
For the Shell
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter

Once the chocolate and peanut butter is melted together, coat the inside of the silicone owl mold.  Tap gently to remove air bubbles.

Place in freezer until set.

Add the peanut butter filling to the inside.

Cover with more chocolate mixture and tap gently to remove air bubbles.

Freeze again and remove from mold.

You could serve them just as they are or you could color in the eyes.

Begin piping white royal icing in the center of the eye.

Before it dries, add orange royal icing to the center of the white.

Finally, add black royal icing to the center of the orange.

After you have filled in all the eyes, pipe a tiny bit of royal icing in the center.

Add a yellow chocolate covered sunflower seed for the beak.

What a Hoot!
