The Partiologist: Snowflake Tree Cupcakes

Snowflake Tree Cupcakes

Is it snowing and cold?  If you answer yes to either of those questions, these are the cupcakes for you.  If you answer no, then you live somewhere warm and you don't need cupcakes to cheer you up.  We've had quite the cold spell, but it's okay with me because I'm in the kitchen baking cupcakes.

Snowflake Tree Cupcakes

I don't know about you, but I want to be an Evil Cake Genius because they made cookies like trees and put them in cupcakes.

Instead of cookies, I made my trees out of fondant and added snowflake designs instead of trees.

Don't they make the cutest tree farm?

I also decided to display them on a frosted glass.

Which is a wine glass turned upside down and frosted.

Can you tell?

All I did was spray the glass with a can of spray frost for windows.

After they were used, I washed off the spray and they were just like new!

Now back to the cupcakes.

Let's get started.

Roll out a large piece of red fondant and cut into rectangle.

Then cut into tree shaped pieces.

Find a beautiful snowflake stencil.

Lay the stencil on the top of the tree, covering only part of it.

Using an offset spatula, cover the stencil with white icing.

Continue covering all the trees.

Let the fondant dry overnight or until hard.

Fill a small bowl with Karo syrup and paint the edges of the fondant trees.

Immediately dip the edges in white sprinkles (dragees).

Stick the trees in the cupcakes.

Soon you'll have your very own tree farm.

It's Frosty and Fabulous!
