The Partiologist: Wafer Paper Birthday Cookies!

Wafer Paper Birthday Cookies!

A while back I made wafer paper roses for a Wreath Cake and they turned out so pretty.  I decided I better make the flowers again before I forget how they were made.  And I wanted to make Birthday Cookies for a special celebration.

Wafer Paper Birthday Cookies

Would you believe if I told you I remembered how to make the flowers?

Once they were made, I decided to use the same spray and decorate the base of the cookie by using a few stencils.

With these cookies, no air brush is needed.

Let me show you how.

Instead of using an airbrush, I used Wilton Color Mist Colors and stencils I had on hand.

After the icing had dried on the cookie, I sprayed each cookie with the Wilton Color Mist.

Next I cut a piece of wafer paper into a spiral and sprayed the paper with the mist.

Turn the wafer paper over and paint a small coating of clear piping gel across the back.

Start with the outside edge and begin rolling up until all the paper is wrapped into a roll.

Using a bit of water, dap the end piece and close.

Next spray the wafer paper with green color mist and punch little leaves.

Cut a small slit in the leaf and dap with water to close together.

Dab with a bit more water and combine two leafs.

You can also make the easy daisy wafer paper flowers using the following method HERE.

(Not Shown)

Add Happy Birthday using a stencil and paint with edible gold dust.

Spritz the gold across the entire cookie!
