Adults left unattended will be sold to the circus! That was a sign I made and I would show a photo of it, but one of the unattended adults "took" the sign home before I got a photo! Or maybe they were sold to the circus, not sure. I am for sure one of my favorite chocolate treats were the...

Peanut Butter Cups!
What Elephant doesn't love a Peanut Butter Cup??
Easy to make, here's how.
PEANUT BUTTER CUPS
Ingredients
12 ounces chopped chocolate, or chocolate candy coating (melted)
24 candy cups
1 cup smooth peanut butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1/4 tsp salt
Chopped Peanuts (Optional)
Directions
Combine the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and salt in a bowl and stir them together until they're well-mixed.
Fill a mini cupcake pan with paper cups. Then fill the cups with a small spoonful of melted chocolate. Set aside the remaining chocolate for later. Top chocolate with peanut butter mixture and then with remaining chocolate. (Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.) Let the cups set at room temperature or in the refrigerator until they have hardened.
After eating a few of the Peanut Butter Cups, we needed a little...
"Water For Elephants"
Beside the water, were the Circus Peanuts.
(Someone actually ate a few of those orange peanuts.)
While making the peanut butter cups, I came up with the idea to make some mini chocolate covered oreo's. I had so many treats at the circus, mini sounded good.
So simple and you don't need a mold!
Here's the How To.
Mini Oreo's.
Candy Melts.
Mini Baking Cups.
Fill bottom of baking cups with melted candy melts.
Press in a mini Oreo.
Top with more candy melts.
Sprinkle with jimmies before the chocolate is hard.
Wait a minute...I've got One Last Mini!
Really, no tears were shed when eating these little bites!
Crumble your chocolate cake and add a dab of frosting and mix
.
Roll into balls.
Roll in chocolate jimmies!
Top with little clowns.
How simple is that?
What a great circus series. Love the spread. The PB cups look great. Isn't there a candy PB cups over there? If so, are these quite similar? Either way they look delish. As do the chocolate covered Oreos. The clowns on top of the bites freak me out just a little. But I have that weird clown phobia so I'll let you off [since that's my own fault! lol]

Sweet 2 Eat Baking
Thanks Lisa! Yes, we do have peanut butter cups that are almost the same! It's so funny how many people I have found that clowns freak them out a little, so you're not alone!
DeleteWelcome Emily! I'm off to check out your blog! :)

ReplyDeletePeanut butter cups are one of my favorite things!!! But those truffles look quite delish too!!! I think I am going to have to go look for some chocolate...and as close as I will find to homemade around here may be a bag of chocolate chips I planned to use for some cookies:)
ReplyDeleteYummmy peanut butter cups! I love your signs, and am cracking up over the "water for elephants". You are just too funny!! (I'm afraid of clowns, too!)
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should go back and x out the clowns on the truffles!! I would hate to scare anyone away! This is the first I've heard of so many people being afraid of clowns. I guess the only clowns I've ever seen were happy & nice! :) Or maybe cuz I'm a clown??
DeleteWhat a fun dessert spread! I feel a little circus party inspiration coming on...
ReplyDeleteI love the mini Oreos!!!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you have time to make and eat some! You're right, if we lived closer, I'd just make them and send them over!
