Sweater Weather!

 Well, it's almost here. Okay, it's actually here...Sweater Weather! At least it is in Colorado. And it's my daughter's favorite time of year, not only because sweater weather, but mostly because soon it will be snowy and cold. Her favorite! So with that in mind I decided to have a full on birthday party to celebrate some of her favorite things...

Before moving on to the next party, I thought I would throw in an easy summer treat.  Nothing says summer more than a S'mores, right?  I don't know about you, but I like to eat my S'mores neat and tidy.  Which is the reason I've never eaten a real S'more.  Like the ones by the fire.  I've made many versions where I don't get marshmallow and chocolate all over my mouth, but I may be missing the point.

I made it mini, but you can make it any size you want.  Individual desserts are always a win win in my book because I love being able to set them out for people to serve themselves.  Plus, when cut into for a photo, I only have a small amount to eat versus an entire pie.  Because you know what happens when I'm left alone with sweets.  Anyway, I needed to get this made so you can enjoy it over the weekend too!

S'mores Marshmallow Sandwich!

Sometimes things can get a little complicated in the kitchen.  Today's post is so simple you can make them with your kids... or let your kids make them... or make them and don't tell anyone you've made them and eat them all yourself.  That could happen when it comes to S'mores.

Obviously, S'mores will be on the menu at many Fourth of July celebrations, so I decided to show you how to make S'mores cute without a campfire.

Gourmet Apple Cookies!

Without hesitation, I can say a chocolate covered caramel apple is one of my favorite desserts.  Even with all the sweets in my kitchen, I find myself craving one of those big chocolate covered caramel apples you can buy.  Because the base is an apple and I choose the one covered with dark chocolate, it's good for you.  I always tell myself that.

While staring from the selection of apples covered with just about everything imaginable, I got to thinking about cookies.  Gourmet Apple Cookies to be exact and I thought, why not?

S'more d'oeuvres

Normally, an Hor d'oeuvre is a small savory dish, typically one served as an appetizer at the beginning of a meal.  I just couldn't resist serving a sweet bite after the meal, tempting the taste buds to want more, well, S'mores in this case.

 

There is a love for S'mores like nothing I've ever seen, you can find S'mores in almost any way, shape or form.  I've mentioned before how I like to keep my S'mores neat and tidy, so when this idea came to mind, I knew it was the S'mores for me.

Today I'm heading to the pool, well not really but I remember the days when I went to the pool and my first stop was at the towel hut.  I'm stopping at the hut not only to gather up the towels, but to gather up a few treats.  Did you know any treat can be a pool party treat?

Living in Colorado, I do enjoy the snow.  From the inside.  Like, I love to look at it through the window...but play in the snow?  Not so much, I don't like to be cold.  But I do like to play in fake snow!  While shopping for Christmas treasures on clearance I found Snowman Peeps and Candy Canes... that's when I decided to make Sledding Snowman S'mores!
