Pokeball Cake

I'm really not sure what or how or why Pokémon became such a rage.  I totally don't understand it, but that really doesn't matter because when I saw the Pokéball, I knew I wanted to play.  Which means make a cake.

And this cake has to be the easiest cake I've ever made...I reverted back to my roots, using the Wilton Star Tip!  Remember when all the character cakes were made with the star tip?  I thought it would be the perfect way to construct the Pokéball Cake, and it was.

Cake by the Slice!

If you're wondering what kind of cake you would eat by the ocean, this is it.  Although I would eat this cake anywhere, anytime, anyway.  Normally when you think of a birthday cake, you think of the entire cake, frosted and decorated.  But you have to remember, I'm not normal when it comes to cake, in fact the only reason to decorate the cake and leave it whole is to keep myself from eating any...even a tiny bite.

After making and decorating a cake, the hardest part is waiting for the occasion to eat it.  Guests might notice a slice missing if you cut into it, but don't worry, I've found a solution...by making cake slices, one or two pieces could go missing without notice.  Let me show you just what I mean, cake by the ocean...

Shabby Chic Birthday Cake!

Sometimes I'm a teacher and sometimes I'm a student...being a student used to be complicated, but not anymore, because the only school I attend is the Sugar Ed Productions Sugar Art School!  When I noticed a new cake video being offered at the school, I knew it would be the cake I wanted to make for the Shabby Chic Birthday party.

So with coffee in hand and the click of the computer, my video was the first class of the day.  It was a challenge, but one I was up for. I hope you enjoy the beauty of the Shabby Chic Birthday Cake I created for the party.

Mini Chimney Cakes!

As a child, I have the most magical memories of Christmas, it was simple, but simply wonderful.  My family consisted of my mom, dad, two sisters and grandparents.  On Christmas Eve we would go to our church Christmas program, come home and open gifts.

I could list my favorite gifts, but I don't think you care about the Incredible Edible Machine or the Vacuform or even the Fun Flower Machine...not to mention my sister's Wood Burning Machine.  Yeah, those were some of my favorites.  I'm pretty sure they don't make them any more because of all those safety regulations...it's a miracle I'm still alive!

Now, you might want to take a seat for this revelation, I didn't believe in Santa...GASP!  I pretended in Santa.  Are you in shock?  Santa always appeared at our school Christmas program and I thought he was a great guy and all, I even told him what I wanted for Christmas just for fun.  I still pretend in Santa, which is why I made these cute little mini cakes, just for Santa.

Confetti Cookie Cake!

I'm DONE!!   Done with reloading thousands photos I accidentally deleted from my blog.  Truly, if I had really wanted to do something like that, I would have had to hire someone for help.  But I was able to do it on my own...and without knowing, deleted thousands of photos in a matter of minutes.  I was devastated and worked morning 'til night, day after day, to get them all replaced.

In celebration of being finished, I decided to share something that makes me happy.  This confetti cookie cake makes me happy and I hope it makes you happy too!

So with great pleasure, I present to you the...

Summer Picnic Party - Ants on a Log!

When you hear "Ants on a Log" what do you think of?  Maybe raisins on peanut butter celery sticks?  Which is a pretty good treat by the way, and very healthy.  My "Ants on a Log" took on another meaning.  And of course it involved chocolate.

When I think of a picnic, I think of ants, and a red and white checked tablecloth.  And chocolate.  I think of chocolate for any occasion.  While laying awake one night, I thought, I could make little ants on a log - with the log being a chocolate cake roll.

Carousel Cake!

I think I saved the best for last.  What would a Carnival be without a Carousel?  This little project of mine didn't seem to complicated when I thought of doing it...in my head.  Once I started, that was another story.  So I'm going to tell you up front.  Don't Do It!  If you can find someone to make this cake for less than $500.00 you've got yourself a bargain!  My hat's off to all those cake decorators out there!  Don't ever, EVER question the cost of a cake!

Daisy Cake

It wouldn't be possible for me to have a party without serving a dessert.  And this dessert was part of the decorations.  Don't you love it when you can eat the decorations...less cleanup!  After seeing this cake by Lindy Smith, I knew it would be perfect for the party, with a few added mini lady bug cakes!
