Sunflower Cookies & Brownie!

Cookie platters are so popular right now, I decided to make one.  Not only can they be part of the décor, they are the dessert.  I love to make desserts where the guests can serve themselves and I can be the entertainment.  Unless of course you want to monitor the intake of the dessert...because, one by one, the petals will disappear.

Sunflower Brownies & Ice Cream!

It's no secret, one of the most creative bloggers out there is Beth of Hungry Happenings.  If you are not familiar with her blog, I suggest you allow yourself several hours to check out all of her amazing creations, it's bursting at the seams!

So when Beth, asked if I would like to guest post on her blog, I could hardly wait to come up with something to create.  I wanted to keep it simple, yet fun and festive...

Those who know me, know I can't grow flowers outside but I love to grow the indoor ones that you can eat.  Just like these sunflower brownies, growing out of ice cream pots.  Maybe I have a green thumb after all...let's get planting!  Check it out HERE

Cupcake Pies!

I'm back with more sunflowery delights for you even though you thought the party was over.  I thought the party was over too and then I remembered...another favorite dessert of the birthday girl was Banana Cream Pie.  Another dessert which I have never EVER made or EVER tasted.  I don't really like pudding or banana flavored candy.  I love fresh bananas and fresh bananas baked in anything cakey, just not pudding-y.  So I went on a search to find something to replace the pie.  And it was love at first bite.  This recipe lived up to it's name!

Peaches & Dreams!

In the land of peaches and dreams my wish was to create some kind of fruit smoothie.  Well, I didn't really create it, I just made it!  And served it up on my two tiered metal stand which I decorated with ribbon and sunflowers.

Sunflower Stemware!

My decor doesn't stop with the dining table, I decided to decorate the stemware too.  Taking a napkin, twine and sparkling sugar I came up with a very, very BRIGHT idea.

I Like Big Bundts!

Let's talk about Sunflower Dining.  You know this is my favorite part of the party, getting to set everything up.  I set the table at least a week before the party to allow for any minor adjustments!  The day of the party is even more fun - that's when I get to put all the treats on display!

Sunflower Island!

You know if you give me a theme, I can go on and on creating something out of nothing.  Today I'm going to show you the last two treats on Sunflower Island.  This creation could possibly be the best combination since chocolate fell down the stairs and landed in peanut butter.

Truffle Bouquet!

While planning the Sunflower party, I decided to make a quick trip to the dollar store.  I love to find something for a dollar and make it into "party stuff".   Without further explanation, here is my dollar store creation -
