Stained Glass Cookie Platter!

Good morning everyone!  Today I'm sharing my latest Easter idea with Lisa, The Bearfoot Baker!  As many know, Lisa recently had surgery to remove a brain tumor and is now recovering.  When I first heard the news Lisa would be having surgery, I wanted to do something to help, but what could I do?  I offered to a guest post for her blog and made this very special cookie platter for Easter.

PYO Stained Glass Cross Cookie!

Sometimes I love when something works out and then sometimes I LOVE when something works out.  This is the time LOVE is in caps.  No special stencil needed and you could make this into any shape.  But for me, the PYO Cross Cookie is just beautiful and the perfect addition to your Easter table.

PYO Cookie!

Today I'm talking about the PYO Cookie.  Are you wondering what is a PYO Cookie?  Don't feel bad, for quite awhile I didn't know what that meant, so I'm here to tell you and you'll never be left in the dark again.  PYO means Paint Your Own Cookie!  Yes, it's like a coloring page, only on a cookie and you can eat the page.  They've been around for awhile and it took me a longer while to create them.  Now I'm thinking, what have I been waiting for?

Stenciled Buttercream Cookies!

It is because of my daughter's love for buttercream I had to find a way to stencil on cookies.  I beg and plead, but no matter how hard I try, she still wants buttercream cookies!  So yes, stenciling on buttercream CAN be done and I'm going to show you how.

Striped Easter Egg Cookies

Today I'm using my egg cutter...to make egg cookies.  Although my plan was to make beautifully detailed cookies, I was shopping for a phone instead.  And when I say shopping for a phone, I mean buying and returning five phones before I finally got the right one.  Again, I'm showing how old school I am because most people don't have land lines, right?  I won't bore you with the details, but instead of decorating beautiful cookies, I spent hours online, then driving to and from the store, buying and returning phones.

It took me days to finally get the right phone, wait...my latest one is now charging, so I'm not really sure if it's the right one, but I have hopes. And while my phones were charging I was decorating simple striped egg cookies.

Easter Basket Cookies

You've all heard the saying, "Don't put your eggs in one basket" right?  Well, today I'm telling you to make all your eggs into baskets!  With over a hundred Easter cookie cutters, I'm using a simple egg shaped cookie cutter to create these little baskets.  Because you all have an egg shaped cookie cutter, right?

Splattered Easter Cookies!

The splatter technique is anything but new, but it is NEW to me.  I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to splatter my cookies, only wasn't sure it was as easy to do until I tried it.  Because these Easter cookies were for fun, I had nothing to lose if I messed them up, everything to gain...because I would want to eat them.

Easter Cookies!

Recently, I had the best day, I got to decorate cookies with my mom. She is the one who taught me so many things when it comes to decorating. While I was growing up, she decorated wedding cakes and I hung around and tried to help. While I knew decorating wedding cakes would be too stressful for me, I went with the butter cream decorated cookie. No more cakes for my mom, as she is now a full time artist and loves to paint with any medium. And that's how these painted cookies happened.

Cottontail Carousel!

Can you believe Easter is a little over a week away?  Before I run out of time to show you everything I've made, I had to be sure and show you these little guys.  When I saw the sweet bunnies on the Wilton website HERE, I knew I wanted to recreate them using cookies and cupcakes.

Photo Challenge!

You may have heard that the great and powerful LilaLoa is having a photo challenge on her blog.  With great faith in my photography I decided to play along.  That faith quickly faded.  After making several Easter cookies, I decided those would be the ones I would photograph for the challenge.

And a challenge it was...first I wondered around the house and tried to find something to place my cookies in.  I finally decided upon a drawer out of an antique chest.  Then I worked, for what seemed like forever, to arrange them in the drawer.  Let's just say a few cookies were injured in the making of this film.  Cookies frosted in butter cream do not stack well, so I ended up with rows of cookies.

Easter Bunny Photo Prop Cookies!

You may remember how I flooded you with Easter posts last year because I was running out of time.  I decided not to let that happen again... So today is the first of many EGG citing Easter ideas I will be sharing with you.

Today you can sit back and relax and let me do the baking.

Easter Lamb Cookies!

These little lambs were some of the first I created when I started my cookie business over four years ago.  After making white lambs, I grew tired of doing the same thing.  So a couple of years ago, they grew into colored lambs.  Let's get one thing straight...Lambs do come in colors, how do you think you get those beautiful colored wool sweaters?
And they do live in the sky.

Eggs'tra! Eggs'tra! - Sugar Cookie Tutorial!

Yep, this is the click you've been waiting for.  I've had tens of thousands, well maybe hundreds...ask how I decorate my cookies.  Four years ago when I turned my cookie decorating into a business, I wanted to use buttercream.  And after a few experiments, creating the perfect recipe, I decided to pipe on the frosting with a basket weave tip.  So today's the day I'm going to show you how to make this Easter Bunny Cookie, Why?  Because Some Bunny Loves You...ME!
