The Partiologist: Burlap & Baby!

Burlap & Baby!

What happens at the Cookie Convention stays at the Cookie Convention?  NO WAY!  While I was able to do lots of cookie stuff, I also found time to party. It was a Surprise Baby Shower for the wonderful, talented Ali from Ali Bee's Bake Shop.  The theme for the shower was burlap with touches of blue.  You won't believe this...when we checked into the hotel and got to the rooms, they were decorated like they knew the theme we were using for the baby shower.  What could be more perfect than Burlap for a fall baby shower?

Burlap Baby Shower

I love how she added the little jute flower!  Glory from Glorious Treats made the sweet baby banner which hung above the table and on the door!  On a very quick lunch break from the convention, we set everything up~
Can you believe this was in a hotel room??
I think they redecorated when they heard about the shower!
Now for the treats.  I planned on making just a few, but soon realized that I couldn't stop at three or even four for that matter.  So this is what I lugged through the airport and carefully placed in the overhead bin.
I made the tags and Glory brought the table cloth - totally matched!!
On to the treats...
Asian Spiced Almonds~
Way in the back were Rolled Butter cream Fondant covered Chocolate Lamb Cookies~
This is while they were flying through the clouds to Salt Lake City~
In the front of the lambs were the Chocolate Pecan Truffles~
Yep, more treats~
Boy Oh Boy Popcorn Bars~
A few more~
It's A Boy Maple Fudge~
One of MY favorite childhood treats - Scotcharoo Bars tucked away in this little package.
The shower wouldn't be complete without Baby Bunting Brownies~
I wish I could say I made the macarons, but they were from Whole Foods~
And the Sweet Baby Mints were made by the very talented Cookie Artisan, Maryann.

What a great night it was to celebrate with lots of cookie and baby lovin' friends!

Congratulations Ali!

  5. This shower is just lovely! One of my favorite details is the texture of the popcorn against the texture of the burlap. It's so sophisticated! Who knew?? Just gorgeous! : )

Thank you so much for creating all those fantastic treats and hauling them all the way to Cookie Con! It was a real surprise. I felt (and still do feel) so loved! I'm still holding on to some of my treat stash that I brought back with me....because I can't bring myself to eat some of it (it's too cute). And that banner is going in John's new nursery!

    Thank you lovely Kim! :)
