I've always wondered how hard it would be to make hollow chocolate hearts (filled with candy of course!). So I gave it a try and it was actually kind of fun...a little time consuming, but fun!
Candy Filled Chocolate Hearts
Candy Filled Chocolate Hearts
After making and filling the heart, I decided to sprinkle edible glitter.
Who doesn't like blinged out chocolate??
Bedazzle with edible glitter, leave them shiny or drizzle with white chocolate -
And a few photos of the process~
SUPPLIES
Craft Heart Ornaments
Red Candy Melts
Sixlets
DIRECTIONS
After washing the ornament, melt and pour red candy melts into one half of the heart.
Spread through out the heart with a paint brush and refrigerate.
Repeat this step with the other half, only filling to the edge (before the indentation).
Apply another coat of melted red candy melts.
After both hearts have been coated twice and are set, lightly tap the mold until the chocolate pops out.
Carefully fill one half heart with candy of your choice.
Pipe a little more candy around edges to seal (wipe off any excess).
Embellish the top or just let it shine!
What's In Your Heart
Perfect! I've been making candy with molds for years but hadn't thought of using larger craft ornaments. I love it!
