The Partiologist: Photo Challenge!

Photo Challenge!

You may have heard that the great and powerful LilaLoa is having a photo challenge on her blog.  With great faith in my photography I decided to play along.  That faith quickly faded.  After making several Easter cookies, I decided those would be the ones I would photograph for the challenge.

And a challenge it was...first I wondered around the house and tried to find something to place my cookies in.  I finally decided upon a drawer out of an antique chest.  Then I worked, for what seemed like forever, to arrange them in the drawer.  Let's just say a few cookies were injured in the making of this film.  Cookies frosted in butter cream do not stack well, so I ended up with rows of cookies.

Clearly, this photo needs some help.
Next I decided to try another set of cookies with out the drawer...I used the very original idea of green paper shred.  And it turned out like this~

I really like the way the colors pop, but I see shadows and I can't get rid of them.  So I now decide to pretend I wanted the shadows and worked very hard to get them!

I admire those who have such lovely photography on their blog, with the fancy focus and beautiful settings.  (I'm pretty sure they use camera's with straps and probably tri-pods too).  I'm just not ready for the giant leap in photography, so I'll stick to my little Cannon that I still can't figure out.

I want to thank you for following my blog even though I don't have the best photos.  (I try and make up for it in great ideas!)

Say Cheese!

  6. I too struggle every day to take nice photos. I often feel when I get a great shot that it is just pure luck. In the gloomy days of winter it is especially hard to get nice bright shots. Some day I'll invest in a DSLR camera, but right now, I use a point and shoot.

No matter the quality of your pictures, the quality of your work is impeccable. Your food and party ideas are wonderful and I enjoy seeing each and every picture you take!

    1. Once in a great while, I do get a good photo and I'm thrilled, usually it's because of good natural light - not because of anything I've done! Your words of encouragement always brighten my day - thanks!
