You probably didn't know that there was such a thing as chocolate covered pears. Well, if I can help it, there will be chocolate covered everything, including pears. And because I promised more tricks on sticks, I present my latest Halloween creations...
While I was making the chocolate covered Halloween Caramel Apples, I needed something pear shaped for the Pirate and Frankenstein.
Hmmm, what could it be, give me a minute, I know it'll come to me.
Beware of Pirates? Not this kind.
I inserted apple sticks into the pears then dipped them in green and white candy melts.
For the pirate, cut out a large round red piece of fondant and also an oval piece of fondant for the scarf. Pinch the oval piece together for the tie.
For the eye patch, roll and cut black fondant with a No. 1 strip cutter, then cut another piece of fondant to make the patch. Layer the patch on top of the strip.
Cut out zero's and pull out the inside for the teeth. Wrap the red fondant around the top of the pear and pinch together the side, add the additional red fondant piece. Cut out several white dots and place on the scarf.
Roll and cut a 0 out of yellow fondant with for the earing and add to the side of the pirate.
Finish it off by adding a royal icing eye.
Frank is so much easier to make than the pirate, you'll be looking for teasures in no time.
It's a short tute.
Roll and cut a large circle of black fondant. Using a small oval cutter, cut out pieces of the front half of the fondant. Add mini marshmallows on the sides and royal icing eyes. Pipe on his eyebrows, stitches and mouth with frosting. Add a little mini M & M for his nose.
Well, that's all of the tricks on sticks...for now. Until we meet again,
Happy Haunting!
