You know when you're so excited for something and then it happens and it's over way too soon? Well, that just about sums up the Fun Food Blogger Retreat I attended a few weeks ago. You see, for weeks and weeks I was looking forward to the retreat hosted by Beth of Hungry Happenings, and sponsored by Wilton and Farm Rich.
Now it's over, but definitely not forgotten!
Fun Food Bloggers!
So what do you think happens when fun food bloggers get together?
We make fun food!
While we were having so much fun creating in the kitchen, lunch was catered by Dorothy Lane Market, which included yummy pasta salads and gourmet cheeses then we gobbled up Killer Brownies and Laura’s Cookies for dessert. Dorothy Lane Market not only provided us with lunch, they also sent each of us home with Killer Brownies, Laura’s Cookies, t-shirts, and bags.
Then it was back to the kitchen, working or maybe I should say playing with candy clay. Oh, and I might mention a Facebook live performance.
And then it happened, we got hungry again. This time we headed into downtown Miamisburg to have dinner at Bullwinkle’s Top Hat Bistro. One of my favorite foods - BBQ and it didn't disappoint. What a fun place to dine!
The next morning, wait for it...I did another Facebook live. I guess when you're around encouraging fun food bloggers, you just have more fun than you would think!
Can you believe we actually got hungry again?
We make fun food!
Let me start at the beginning...
I arrived at the airport, met up with Sue of Munchkin Munchies and Norene of Party Pinching, then we continued on to Ohio. Once arriving in Ohio, we met Beth of Hungry Happenings, Meaghan of The Decorated Cookie, Jill of Kitchen Fun with My Three Sons and Desiree from Wilton.
Once we arrived in our room, a bag of goodies were waiting for us!
A FUN FOOD T-Shirt! Available HERE.
Our first day was spent in Beth's kitchen - YES, she has a candy kitchen with every ingredient imaginable! Beth showed us how to make candy clay using Wilton candy melts.
Have you heard of Candy Clay? It looks and acts like fondant, but tastes like chocolate. And it's super simple to make, two ingredients...Wilton candy melts and Karo syrup.
Beth has it down to a science and answers every question you could possible ask in her new E-Book, available HERE.
After mixing several colors of candy clay, we got busy creating cute fun food.
And to make the retreat a little sweeter, the Public Relations Manager from Wilton, Desiree Smith joined us for a few days. What. A. Treat. She shared her talent and knowledge of Wilton with us all.
And then there was this.
So many of my favorite Wilton cake decorating and candy making supplies for us to take home. It was like Christmas in August.
I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was when I saw all the goodies!
Our day continues...

It was a good thing because Sunday, we were served brunch by Bob Evans. AWESOME. Michael S. Agee the Sr. Director of Corporate Services brought a spread of freshly made food from the local Bob Evans Restaurant, it was almost like Thanksgiving. And then Kevin Rabideau, the Sr. Mgr. of Product Development demonstrated how to make one of their newest menu items, a fresh veggie omelet.
Did you know that all of the products used to make the menu items at Bob Evans restaurants are all fresh, never frozen? There is only one thing more I could ask for, please come to Colorado!
Let me say, we were spoiled big time by Bob Evans. Not only were we served an delicious brunch, we received gift cards (for a wonderful meal) coupons for store products (thankfully I can find them in my freezer section) freshly ground coffee and coffee mugs (being put to good use) and the most comfy t-shirts to wear!
We all enjoyed our Sunday brunch so much, we took the opportunity to dine at the local Bob Evans Restaurant for breakfast, wearing our matching t-shirts. Go Pig or Go Home!
Another generous sponsor was Farm Rich Foods.
Before the retreat, we all created back to school snacks using Farm Rich Foods.
Be sure to check them out.
While at the retreat, we spent time creating fun food using Farm Rich Foods.
This is what happens when creating fun food with six fun food bloggers.
Super cute food using Farm Rich Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, Pepperoni Rolls, and Potato Skins. The possibilities are endless.
I'm not sure when we were hungry again, but this time it involved pizza.
When I go out for pizza, I usually order the same thing. But not this time, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed trying the unique toppings on the pizza's from Dewey’s Pizza. I found so many new pizza's I loooove, not to mention the delicious salad and dessert to start and finish the meal.
I've always wanted to watch someone toss pizza dough in the air, it is quite a talent. A talent I will probably never achieve, but had so much fun watching!
My talent is eating the pizza.
We were completely spoiled from morning to night, starting with donuts from Bear Creek Donuts in Miamisburg, Milton Mealtime Companions, Sugar Bowl Bakery Madeleines and Brownies, and cookies from Amy Cakes in Miamisburg.
I can't say thank you enough to our fearless leader Beth, who worked so hard to make this Fun Food Blogger Retreat happen. It was the best ever. In fact it was better than ever. And I know it would not have been possible without the generous donations from our sponsors, Wilton and Farm Rich.
So THANK YOU from the bottom of my Fun Food Blogging Heart!
