This vintage themed Sweet Sixteen party was for my niece who is talented beyond her years! She loves vintage style and design. When planning her Sweet 16, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. So come along and see some of the Sweets!
Vintage Themed Sweet Sixteen!
And all of the invitations were handmade with love. And who doesn't love getting an actual invitation in the mail?
You may have noticed I am hosting all the parties for the Sweet 16 Birthday of all my nieces? It has been such fun getting to see the excitement and joy each birthday girl has before their party. So far I've hosted a DAISY themed sweet 16; a LUAU themed sweet 16; and last year was VINTAGE which I'm sharing now.
Another party is in the works for later this summer!
I'm not sure where to start...How about the table.
Okay, if anyone has ideas on how to get a good photo of a table in front of a window, please let me know. I have never been able to get a good photo without a glare. I've even closed the blinds.
Now, back to the party.
The center three tiered stand held all kinds of goodies.
The top were pillow boxes with chocolate covered almonds.
Tied with jute and vintage floral embellishments added to the top.
The middle held S'mores to take home.
You can be sure I didn't have any open flames for roasting. They could enjoy them at their next outing.
The bottom held popcorn balls.
I found these lace bags and I really wanted to use them for the party. But what could I fill them with? I mean they were big. Well, I ended up making popcorn balls and that was just the right thing.
The window is always decorated. And I usually break a bone trying to get things up, I'm not the handiest with a ladder.
But with a few nails and a hot glue gun, I'm good to go.
The corner with bunting, burlap garland and flower fans.
The table was covered in burlap along with more of the same bunting across the front.
Here I attached the bunting to the table beneath the burlap. Don't ask how.
Let's take a look at the vintage style sweets. One of my favorites was the cupcakes.
Not only were they chocolate (my favorite) but it was the wrapper and cupcake topper I used. The toppers were actually gift tags. I added a wooden pick through the top hole and hot glued the bottom part of the tag to hold it in place. Then I placed each one in a cupcake. Sweeeeet, right?
Chocolate covered pretzels are always a part of my parties.
These were drizzled and topped with mini chocolate chips, sprinkles and a fondant flower.
And the sugar cookies spelled Happy Birthday Lily.
I packaged each cookie for the guests to take one home.
For some reason, cream cheese mints seem to find their way into my parties.
I think because it's one of my sister's favorites.
And just thinking about these cookies...oh how I wish I had one now.
Baked fresh the morning of the party.
The cake pops with vintage floral straws, cake lace and a fondant flower.
Seriously, I didn't know what I was going to do when I started dipping them. I know I loved the straws and then it went from there.
And cheesecake. Blueberry Cheesecake.
Okay, let's not talk about the blueberry sauce.
Let's talk about the Sweet 16 Birthday Cake!
My famous French Vanilla cake. Loved by all the guests!
Another look at the table. Oh, and did I mention the island is also full? I'll save that for another post.
It was Sweet!
By the time the party was over, I was feeling a little vintage!
I'm sure all the girls in your family look forward to having a Sweet 16 hosted by you! Everything looks amazing.
