It's December 1st and you know what that means...maybe you're decorating your tree or shopping all the sales. Or you're like me, you've already hosted four parties and you decorated your tree by the 1st of November and I'll be finishing up wrapping soon...when it is snowing! But let me tell you a little about my gift wrapping. I think I'm the only one in the world who did this.
Before I go into my wrapping story, let me share the most fun Grinch themed gingerbread decorating party I hosted for my family.
Grinch Themed Gingerbread Party!
I have to admit, this party I hosted last November for Thanksgiving. Because I just don't have enough holidays as I have parties. I decided on a Grinch themed dinner and we decorated Whoville gingerbread houses, complete with Grinch themed decorations!
After looking everywhere, I found the perfect dinnerware for our party.
You're a mean one Mr. Grinch! This was before his heart grew three sizes.
And I really didn't want to spend a fortune in more drinkware, so I created my own using window clings!
Notice the wreath on the glass? Yep, that's a window cling.
Each glass had a different Grinch themed window cling!
I forgot to take photos when the beverage dispenser was filled with green punch, it looked so fun!
And on the center island, I had it full of Grinch themed desserts.
After the party, the wooden tree and pictures are used as Christmas decor in the playroom.
Cindy Lou Who was handing out the cookies.
Some of my favorite cookies I have ever made! Labor. of. love.
Each one packaged and ready to take home.
Grinch handed out bags of chocolate covered caramel corn.
And Max handed out Grinch themed gingerbread cookies.
The banner welcoming everyone to Whoville!
And then it was time to decorate all the gingerbread houses for Whoville.
I had a lot of Grinch themed decorations! And a little FYI...I put all the gingerbread houses together before the party. Using HOT GLUE! Try it, it's a game changer!
After decorating, we had a cozy place to cuddle and watch The Grinch movie.
Oh, I almost forgot... The Grinch made an appearance to give my little grands a big hug! It was sooo fun!
After the party, all of the Grinch themed decorations were out of the kitchen and it was back to regular Christmas decorations.
I hope to post at least another Christmas party before, well Christmas. So if I find time, it will be a Christmas miracle!
Just in case I don't find time to post another party...
I'm wishing you the best Christmas ever!

What a fun party! Your cookies and decorations, as always, look incredible. I would have loved seeing the finished gingerbread houses. I'm sure they were so cute when they were decorated.
ReplyDeleteThank you Beth!! I should have included the complete Whoville gingerbread houses! :)
DeleteAdorable. Can you please let me know where you purchased the cookie cutters? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I have had the cutters for awhile, but if I remember correctly, I purchased some off Etsy and some from Williams Sonoma.
DeleteEverything is beyond beautiful! I love it all.
