I think it's about time to get back to parties, don't you?
Sometimes I see an invitation and decide to have a party with that theme, but this time I found a red and white striped dress and decided to have a Nautical themed party. Sad, I know, to go to this much work just to wear a new dress! (Oh and I should mention that I found the perfect shoes too!)
Nautical Party
Then I found the perfect invitation and soon I came up with clever wording. It reads:
Ahoy, Mates!
Captain Tim and his First Mate
Cordially invite their
"Nautical But Nice" Friends
To dine with them aboard the
S.S. Fanta Sea
Saturday Evening, July 9th 2009
Cocktails on Deck - 6:00 p.m.
Sunset Dinner Cruise - 7:00 p.m.
Heimbuck Yacht Club
Don't Rock the Boat...
Call --- ----
It made me laugh and I hope it made my guests laugh too!
I decided to invite Mable and Molly to the party,
even though they are afraid of water.
No need to worry, I purchased a couple of life jackets for them to wear.
They were relieved and could then enjoy the party!
On my archway in the entry I hung a plastic nautical banner.
And yes, I crawled up the very tall ladder myself.
In fact that ladder was a Christmas gift from my dad.
He really couldn't understand why I would want a ladder for Christmas, but I have used it over and over!!
Right in the center of the entry, I put some punch and cups.
Okay, that's not all, besides just being punch...
I called it Fog on the Harbor, here's why.
Right before guests arrived, I added dry ice and a fresh bing cherry to each glass!
Well, let's move over to the kitchen where the party continues...
A fabric banner hanging from a beam.
And now for the table...
AMAZING...as always! Sounds like so much fun...love the "Nautical but Nice" part on the invite!
