While out shopping for who knows what, the saying in a window "I Love You to Pieces" caught my eye. Immediately I thought of puzzle piece cookies for mom along with the quote on a tag. My kind of puzzle.

And package them up with pretty lace and ribbon.
Along with a tag.
I don't know if I accomplished the look I was going for, but honestly, I was too tired to start over.
That's what happens when you get up at 4:30 a.m. morning after morning.
You get tired.
Until now, I've never had a reason to use the puzzle piece cutter.
I do think it was made to use with bread, however, I don't think mom would like carton of bread.
Or, maybe she would?
I chose to make cookies, one press and four little puzzle pieces are cut, ready to be baked and decorated.
Outline each cookie with royal icing and flood the center, (no photo, I may have taken a cat nap about now).
Let all the pink cookies completely dry.
Use an airbrush to make the lace design. All kinds of stencils are available on Etsy or other online shops, for this pattern I used a Damask stencil.
Lay your stencil on top of the cookies (the stencil actually covered four little cookies at a time).
Spray the white airbrush color over top of the pink.
And you'll end up with lacey cookies!
Package them up and give them to mom. Along with a gift card - LOL
I used Avery Tags for the printable.

Kim...I absolutely love theses cookies.Although my Mom is gone, thought these would work for Birthday or just thinking of you..I found and ordered the bread cutter but now where can I get that stencil (it seems perfect for the cookies) and a template for that Tag?

Thank you so much Cherie - I just added a link for the tag and also left a few blank so you can use it for any occasion. Check Etsy for inexpensive damask stencils.
