The Partiologist: Feather Rice Krispie Treats!

Feather Rice Krispie Treats!

With one day before Thanksgiving, I wanted to make something simple.  And to me simple always begins with a Rice Krispie Treat.  The treats were made, cut into bars and then nothing.  Nothing came to me, all I could see were Rice Krispie Bars.

When that happens, I realize it's time for a break, which means go the computer and see what's going on.  Within one minute on Facebook, I saw a cute little photo of two kiddos, each wearing a feather in a headband, titled "Thanksgiving Feast"!  Immediately I knew what to do with the RKT.

Feather Rice Krispie Treats!

All I had to do was make the feathers, dip in chocolate, add the band and sprinkles.

Before I knew it, I had a whole tribe!

I've had the feather mold for quite awhile and finally put it to use.

Take a look at the process~

Melt a few Hershey bars.

Add lollipop sticks to the Rice Krispie Treat.

Melt the chocolate.

Dip the rice krispie treat in the chocolate.

I actually held the treat with my hand, not the stick.

Before the chocolate has set, sprinkle with fall colored sprinkles.

Press colored fondant into the feather mold.

Let the feathers dry overnight.

Roll out black fondant and cut with a OXO rolling mincer for the headband.

This little gadget cuts long strips with one swipe!

After the feather has dried overnight, spread a little chocolate to the back.

Press on the rice krispie treat.

Wrap the black fondant band around the rice krispie treat.

Seal the fondant in the back.

I have so many reasons to be thankful and having you read this Blog is one of them!

I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
