The Partiologist: Snoopy's Ornament Cookie!

Snoopy's Ornament Cookie!

It wouldn't be a party without a cookie, right?  Inspired by the backdrop from my Charlie Brown Christmas dessert table, I created Snoopy's Doghouse Cookie Ornament.

Because they are quite simple to make, you just might want to serve them at your party too!

Snoopy's Ornament Cookie!

While setting up the Charlie Brown Christmas party, I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the cookies.

Doghouse Ornament cookies of course.

So cute, no wonder Snoopy won first place!

I'll show you how to make your own~

Start by rolling and cutting the ornament shaped sugar cookies.

Mix and fill two bags with red and black royal icing.

Pipe a border with red royal icing and then food the center.

This pic is from another cookie (didn't take the photo of the ornament).

Do the same for the ornament.

Immediately, pipe four lines of black royal icing across the cookie.

Lay out the candy light bulbs.

Add another swag of black royal icing.

Pipe small black dots along the swag with the icing.

Before the dots dry, add the candy light bulbs.

Add dots and candy bulbs to the other side.

Let the icing completely dry.

Fill a pastry bag with the Wilton #6 round tip and white buttercream frosting.

Pipe squiggle lines across the top of the ornament.

Sprinkle with white sanding sugar.

Shake off the excess.

Fill another pastry bag with black buttercream frosting and a Wilton #2 round tip.

Pipe a loop for the ornament hook.

Add black squiggle lines across the top of the snow.

Your ornament is complete and Snoopy is happy.

Now it's time to grab the dvd and watch the movie, oh and eat a cookie!

  3. And you win first place for creating these awesome ornament cookies! I think the piping is simple enough for even a non-piper -such as myself- to achieve. I LOVE them! :)

  5. When it says flood the center with red icing, does the icing begin to spread out and cover the cookie? I was hoping for a pic of that step. Just wanted to make sure that I did it correctly. Thanks!
