You've got it! Or should I say I've got it? I'm finally hopping on the Unicorn trend. I kept thinking as soon as I made something Unicorn, it wouldn't be popular anymore. Just like what happened with Angry Birds. Did I tell you about that? I hand cut Angry Bird cookies time after time and finally I decided to buy the cutters. And then you know what happened...not one person was interested in Angry Bird cookies ever again.
This time I decided not to invest in anything, just use what I had on hand. Just in case the Unicorns disappear as fast as Angry Birds, I'm hoping that won't be the case. If you're looking for a little more sparkly inspiration, I've got you covered, look no further.
Unicorn Oreo's
I think they are one of the cutest trends around.
So cute that I decided to make another version, one that's NEVER been done.
You'll see that a bit later.
For now, I'm showing you how to make your own unicorn Oreo's.
Complete with golden horn.
Watch it now!
Fill the cookie mold with white Wilton candy melts.
Add Oreo Cookie and cover.
Let harden and remove from mold.
Make the ears out of yellow fondant with a mini tear drop shape cutter.
Use a #16 star tip for the roses and a #2 round tip for the mane.
Us a #1 round tip for the eyes.
(I used stiff royal icing for the mane, horn and roses).

Thank you so much, I love that you loved looking at them! :)
DeleteHow do you paint it gold
ReplyDeleteI used rolkem gold mixed with vodka, you can also use a premade edible gold paint which I listed above.
DeleteWhere do I get the molds for the oreos? I've typed every word I can imagine and I am finding nothing that looks that deep for the oreos to sit in. The cookies are so amazing and I want to make them for my daughters 8th bday in December.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, I've added an amazon link above! You will love the mold, it is sturdy and easy to work with. Plus you'll be able to use it so many other ways!
DeleteWhat did you use for the ears and eyes?
ReplyDeleteThe ears were made from fondant and the eyes were piped on with royal icing.
DeleteHello? I made hers today for a birthday! I am wondering how to preserve them overnight. Does aluminum make the design too soft? Or should I just use plastic wrap?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I would not wrap them at all, they will be fine left out uncovered. The chocolate seals the Oreo, so no need to cover them. I'm happy to hear you gave them a try!
DeleteThese are so cute! My granddaughter is having a unicorn themed birthday party and I'd like to make these for her. Did you have a mold for the horn? Also where do you find the mini tear drop shape cutter?
