I don't know about you, but I am not ready for fall. Because you know what fall means...Winter is right around the corner. But let's not jump ahead of ourselves, it's only August. Now that I think about it, it's almost September! YIKES! I thought it would be good to ease into the season with maple leaf cupcakes, I mean DIY maple leaf cupcakes.
Maple Leaf Cupcakes
Actually, you don't need to do any baking, you could always pick up a dozen from the bakery, make the toppers and you will be the smartest leaf on the tree.
By making the fondant leaves ahead of time, they will hold their shape.
Let's get down to business.
By adding just a tiny bit of brown food color to orange, yellow and green fondant, I had the perfect shades for fall.

Next, roll the fondant and cut a maple leaf with a plunger cutter.
Lay the leaf on a curved flower drying tray, (first dusted with powdered sugar).
It's almost sweater weather...ALMOST!
I'm so ready for fall!! It's my favorite time of the year.
ReplyDeleteI know you and my daughter are both very ready for sweater weather! :)
DeleteThe second half of the year is my favorite (haha..my birthday is in August), and I like it to go real slow! Your adorable cupcakes are perfect to welcome the new season! I have some autumn plunger cutters and now I know just how I can use them! Thanks, Kim! :)
