The Partiologist: Love Notes Cookie Platter!

Love Notes Cookie Platter!

It seemed like such a good idea.  Then I made the cookies and started to think, why would anyone need a Love Notes Cookie Platter?  I mean, maybe if you were having a piano recital?  Or a wonderful Valentine gift for your music teacher?  Other than that, I just don't know.  Since I went to all the work making the cookies, I thought I'd share with you.

Love Notes Cookie Platter!

Now you can tell me all the reasons why you would want this cookie platter.

Maybe just because you want to eat cookies.

Anyway, if you have a reason to make the platter, I'll show you how.

I have two sets of stick cookie cutters.  First I used the small set and needed to trim the ends because they weren't small enough.

The small stick cookies will be the black keys.

Next, I cut several larger stick cookies.

These I left the size they were.

After they were baked, I laid them out like a piano keyboard.

Piped black icing on the small stick cookies and piped white icing on the larger stick cookies.

If you want, stencil notes to the keys.  But only if you want.

I made edible notes confetti.

Now they're ready to be played.

Did I tell you I used to play the piano?  Yes, played all through high school for my choir.  Good thing because if not, let's just say I wouldn't have made it into the choir and they weren't choosy.

But my Love Note Keyboard is music to your ears, right?

  5. My husband used to work for a company that makes player pianos. This would have been a huge hit there! But I think it's awesome for all sorts of occasions. I mean, even a birthday party involves singing, so musical note cookies totally fit. Fabulous idea!
