The Partiologist: Gold Themed Christmas!

Gold Themed Christmas!

It's time to move on over to the island.

The Golden dessert/appetizer island.

Gold Themed Christmas!

When you want everything covered in gold, sometimes a little goes a long way. Like the Christmas Tree. My thought was to sprinkle a little edible gold dust on the tree. However for some reason, the first dusting of gold came out like a blizzard.

So I tried to even it out a bit, but before I knew it, the tree was covered in a little more than a dusting. Kind of like a little snowstorm.

And it was a bit on the fat side, no pan so I had to hand carve. And the smaller I made the Christmas tree cake the more I ate.

Plus there were more desserts to choose from.

Not too many more, some of my families favorites. Cake pops, brownies, chocolate cranberry bark and my favorite Christmas tradition, sugared cranberries. Let's take a look.

I had to make cake pops because of the gold and white polka dot straws. It went with the theme.

And the tree topped brownies. Again, gold on the chocolate trees, so I had to use them.

I served the cake for the main dessert, but there was plenty to keep our spirits bright with all the sugar.

Picking up a piece of chocolate cranberry bark with gold stars

I'm not sure, but I think I'm the only one who loves the sugared cranberries.

What's not to love about tart and sweet. And I'm not talking about me.

The evening the lights in the covered domes lit up the table instead of candles. And to be honest, candles never light up the table because I never light them.

In the left corner are little smokies wrapped in bread. Nothing says gold themed Christmas like a smokie.

And edamame and cornbread. Also very Christmassy.

Fresh fruit served in glasses placed in gold and white paper cups. And a sparkly gold party pick.

Individual shrimp cups placed on gold stars. Festive and FUN!

Every sleigh should bring sparkling cider, right?

And in case we started running out of energy, creamy espresso shots and truffles. CHEERS on each glass and the drink topped with an chocolate covered espresso bean.

Added a star to the front of each wine glass.

So, there you have it. A golden christmas.

Can you guess this years theme?
