The Partiologist: I Love You More Than...

I Love You More Than...

I Love You More Than...Bacon!  Yep, I've got time for just one post before Father's Day and I decided to go with Bacon.  You can pretty much find it in anything these days, I'm just not sure it's for me.  But these little strips of bacon are perfect, because they are chocolate.

He brings home the bacon and I fry it up in a pan make candy.
I don't know if you can tell, but that is a pan I have it packaged on.
A DIY Pan.  Just sayin.
And I made these little strips of bacon and so can you.
I found the mold for a $1.00 at Target.
Added a tiny bit of maple flavoring to chocolate melts.
Brought out my inner artist and painted red, black and white (candy coloring) onto the chocolate bacon.

Now for that DIY packaging.
I won't go into detail how I came up with the design - very technical.
Trace the design on cardboard and cut.
Wrap the cardboard with foil and tape down the back.
To make it a little sturdier, you can hot glue a popsicle stick down the back.

Then pipe a little melted chocolate to the back of each slice of bacon.
Stick the bacon onto the pan.
Wrap with a large cellophane bag.
Add the little tag:
I Love You More Than Bacon!  Happy Father's Day!
Add the tag and black bow and you're ready to show your love for dad.

And even a printable for the little piggy tag!

I must love you more than bacon too!
Have a wonderful father's day weekend!

  3. Too funny! I just went to Target to find the mold, but my store didn't have them. My nephew is a bacon fanatic, and this would be such a fun gift for him. I'll keep my eye out for the mold.
