The Partiologist: Gold Christmas Tree

Gold Christmas Tree

First of all, I don't know if I should wish you a Merry Halloween or apologize about the random post that went out earlier in the week.  Hopefully the problem is fixed and all is well in bloggyland.

I not much of a photographer, but I'd like to share one of the photographs I took a few years ago through the window of my office, the tree in my front yard.   When I woke up early one morning, it was full of frost and snow and looked so pretty.

Later that year, we had a heavy snow and it broke off one of the big beautiful branches.  I went out and saved that branch so it could became a part of my Christmas Party!

I decided to start painting it that next summer...

I started spraying and spraying and it just wasn't covering.

That's when I knew I had to move it inside and get out the GLITTER!

 Awww, now it was working!

I poured the glitter glue in the little green bowl and painted it on EACH branch then sprinkled the entire tree, branch by branch, with gold glitter!

Finally it sparkled!

Now for the tree stand...I painted a terra cotta pot gold and filled it with plaster of paris then added the tree branch.  (Now that was a project in itself!)  After the tree was set solid in the pot, I sprayed the plaster of paris gold and added more glitter to the inside...

...and a few glittery dragonflies to the branches.  I loved my sparkly tree!

Now it was ready to display all the golden ornament cookies~

I will continue with more of my golden themed Christmas Party well into January.

I can't believe Christmas is in two days - AWESOME!

I do Believe in the Miracle of Christmas~

Merry Christmas!

Sweet Dreams, Sugarplums!

    2. Hi Kim,
I'm playing "catch-up" with my blogger favorites. I love everything you have done for the holidays. The tree is a real keeper. Now, let me ask, after following you for years I just must ask, do you own the house next door to store all your decorations for all your parties? You certainly have tons of "stuff". I love it. Please keep it up.

  6. Hi Kim,
Love what you did with your tree branch. Do you own the house next door to save all your decorative goodies. You have so many different ideas it must take so much time to clean, store, shelve, and keep track of what you all have. Not easy to store tree branches I'm sure.
Keep up the great ideas you share.
