The Partiologist: Movie Night!

Movie Night!

Being The Partiologist, I had to party with my peeps for a girls night day out.  It was an afternoon of friends just getting together to chat and see a movie.  Of course, I couldn't arrive empty handed and I've wanted to create these Popcorn Cupcakes for a very long time.

Pop Corn Cupcakes

Yes, it's a cupcake topped with real popcorn.

You know the salty/sweet craze that has been sweeping the nation?  Well, I figured why not!

So that's what I did and you can too - because I made a printable.  For You.

Bake your favorite white cupcake recipe and cool.

While the cupcakes are cooling, print (on white card stock) and cut your cupcake wraps.

Wrap around the cupcake for size, trim and hot glue the ends.

Place each cupcake in a wrap.

Pop popcorn (I used microwave) and set aside.

Frost the top with buttercream frosting in a spiral, using a Wilton #9 decorating tip.

Begin adding pieces of popcorn... it was kind of like putting a puzzle together, making each piece fit close together until the cupcake is entirely covered.

To be on the safe side, I decided I had better do a taste test...

So far so good, I sliced it open...

Here goes...

YUM!  Sweet, salty, crunchy and good to the last bite POP!

Time to get your party Poppin'!
