The Partiologist: Chocolate Toffee Crunch...Ice Cream!

Chocolate Toffee Crunch...Ice Cream!

I decided to give you a nice cool break from the Back To School Party, in fact it's so cool, it's ICE!  As in Ice Cream.  You have heard someone say you cannot judge a book by it's cover, right?  Well, in this case that's totally wrong.  When I was asked if I'd like to do a review of Wendy Paul's newest book 101 Gourmet Ice Cream Creations - I had to make this...

Toffee Crunch Ice Cream

I took one look at the cover and fell in love.

After I opened the book, I was even more in love - it was very easy to read, had lots of wonderful photos AND it was spiral bound.  What's not to love?
And I like a challenge - I've never made home made ice cream in my life.  Eaten it perhaps?  A big yes - I have great memories of my mom making the "magic potion" and dad cranking the ice cream mixer out on the sidewalk.  I drove them nuts asking if it was done yet, kind of the same way I drove them nuts on vacation, asking if we were there yet!

So why haven't I made homemade ice cream?  Good question, because I have been missing out.  Thanks to Wendy Paul's new book, I'll never miss out again!  After spending a good amount of time deciding upon the recipe to make, I enlisted the help of my daughter, the ice cream connoisseur, then we agreed.  Chocolate Toffee Crunch!
Oh my, every bite was like a chocolate ice cream truffle with toffee bits.  Out of this ice cream world good.  Here's the process of my first home made ice cream experiment.
And you will find the wonderful recipe at the bottom of this post.

Now that I've sampled (okay, more than sampled) one of the recipes in the book, you can be sure I'll be making more! Take another look~
This ice cream is the BEST ice cream I've ever eaten!
All opinions are 100% mine and...

 Partiologist Approved!
