The Partiologist: Bumble Bee Rice Krispie Treats!

Bumble Bee Rice Krispie Treats!

Now that the gender has been revealed at the party, some have been asking and I thought you all might like to know... IT'S  A  GIRL!  I am over the moon excited and can't wait to start on baby shower preparations.  Bee-fore I get too excited about the baby shower, I've got a ton of BEE themed desserts to show you, including Bumble Bee Rice Krispie Treats.  You know you will always see a RKT on my dessert table.

Bumble Bee Rice Krispie Treats!

I'm having so much fun with the Bee theme, I hope you're excited too!  This theme could be used for ANY party.

I knew when I was buying all the bumble bee stuff years ago, I would someday need it!

Originally I planned to cut the RKT (Rice Krispie Treat) in the same shape as the honeycomb.  Then to make it easier, I decided to cut squares.

That became a challenge to cut all the squares exactly the same size.  After carefully measuring, mission accomplished.  Does anyone else try and cut the exact same size, or is it just me?

Probably just me, because you should see all the other stuff I do that make my family roll their eyes.

So let's get started with the RKT.

This is the mold I used, link below.

After melting the yellow candy melts, I added one chocolate wafer to make it a little more golden in color.

Just as the chocolate is in a piping bag, I melted the yellow the same and was able to fill that cavity very carefully.  After placing the yellow bee in the freezer to harden, I added chocolate to the top and returned it to the freezer.

Let freeze until solid and carefully peel the sides away and then the bottom.

Next cut the RKT in even squares.  Or uneven squares.

Add a dollop of chocolate and place a chocolate honeycomb on the top.

I'm all Abuzz!
