So what do you do when you want cookies for someone who is going to the beach and then to Disney World? This time I was included...along with my sisters and our husbands!! So I made beach themed Mickey Mouse cookies to share! I didn't go into a lot of detail on these, kept it simple and stuck to the plan.
Beach Themed Mickey Mouse Cookies
I couldn't wait to give these to my family before they headed out on their Beach/Disney vacation.
I was able to incorporate the entire trip into one cookie!
I kept it really simple with only a few steps.
Start by baking your Mickey Mouse shaped cookies.
Mix up a small batch of sandy colored frosting.
Spread the top of the cookie with the frosting, try to keep it straight across the top.
Clean the edges with an off set spatula.
Sprinkle with sand...I mean brown sugar!
Next mix up the ocean colored frosting.
Spread across the bottom and as close to the beach as possible.
Using the off set spatula, clean the edges and make little peaks for the water.
Sprinkle with white sanding sugar.
Next, using a Wilton #9 round tip, pipe a squiggle line between the beach and ocean.
Using a food safe paintbrush, pull the white into the ocean, making the wave.
It's Mickey by the Ocean!
These cookies are so much. I hope your family has a wonderful time on their beach/Disney vacation. I can't imagine it would be anything but magical. :)
