One of the hardest things about this party was to decide which desserts to make. So it kind of looks like I made everything. At least everything I wanted to, like these Tropical Rice Krispie Treats!
Tropical Rice Krispie Treats!
I mean, nothing says you're in the tropics like a Rice Krispie Treat. But only if they're topped with a palm leaf and hibiscus.
These were one of my favorite desserts for the party, just because they turned out so pretty.
I don't know why, but I love RKT and they are always included in my dessert buffets. Please notice the size of these...each one being the same. I spend waaaaay tooooo much time measuring and cutting my desserts. Maybe it's because if they're not all the same size I can trim and eat the trimmings? We may never know.
Instead of using fondant for the palm leaf, I used green candy melts and found it was much easier. The flower was made with a cutter, forming mold and colored fondant and a candy bead in the center.
My galvanized serving tray worked perfectly.
Front and center on the island.
Please, someone take me to the tropics!
Did you use a mold to make the leaves out of green candy melts? I've never seen a mold quite like it.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a silicone mold, I just love it and have it in several sizes.
DeleteNothing like a good ole Rice Krispie Treat and these are even better with the cute tropical decoration. I bet they were a crowd pleaser.
ReplyDeleteThank you, they were a crowd pleaser for sure! I don't think you'll ever attend a party of mine without a Rice Krispie Treat!
