I'm not sure how I found the time to write this blog post, I definitely have visions of sugarplums dancing in my head. Getting ready for another year.
And for the record, I decorate for Christmas on November 1st. I will not confirm nor deny that I may have started October 31st this year.
So, today I'm sharing a party from a couple years ago. Looking back, I think it's a favorite!
Peppermint Themed Christmas Party!
I always have so much fun planning and searching for just the right décor for Christmas. Problem is, I don't like to use the same theme for my table twice. So I have a ton of Christmas dishes. In my defense, sometimes I incorporate the old with the new.
Hurry on over, I'm saving you a seat!
I finally found the way to use my peppermint swirl napkins. During my original set up, I tried using them so many different ways. And when I found the wooden ornaments with the loop, I knew what I wanted to do.
And I fell in love with the peppermint trimmed plates. I loved how simple but festive they are.
The table runner had pom poms of sort sewn across each end. When I found the runner, I purchased two, one for the table and one for the island. I'll show you that later.
I added the wooden Merry Christmas down the center of the table. When it fell over, it was like putting a puzzle together. And the wooden white snowflakes...no puzzle at all.
Each cup had a glass peppermint swirl swizzle stick.
I'm probably the only one in the family who remembers all the details of the table. So maybe I could do this theme again and no one would know! Hmmm....
A place for everyone.
fa la la in love with the table.
A little counter had the appetizer, shrimp cocktail.
I found that when I made a lot of appetizers, no one was hungry for dinner. So this was it.
Now over to the island where all the desserts are.
I've had this large glass vase which I use for décor empty. But decided to fill it will berries and peppermint swirls.
Also decided to use the peppermint swirl napkins to layer with the dishes.
I found the small cake plates and wanted to put them to use.
Coconut macaroons in the first. It's a family favorite!
And sugared cranberries in the second. Recipe HERE.
And another family favorite, cranberry pistachio chocolate bark.
I think we have a lot of family favorites, because I also made chocolate coated caramel apples. Decorated with red and white sprinkles, but not peppermint flavored.
Of course, I always have boxes to take some of the goodies home.
Because after eating the cake, which was peppermint flavored, there wasn't room for much else.
This is what we saved room for!
After making the chocolate peppermint cake, I covered the outside with peppermint candy coated chocolate.
I poured melted chocolate on parchment and immediately sprinkled with peppermint chunks. After it cooled, I cut the best I could into long strips and covered the outside of the cake.
This concludes my peppermint party! Because Santa can't do it alone.
I wish you a Very Merry Christmas!
