The Partiologist: Black and White Themed Christmas!

Black and White Themed Christmas!

Yes, I know, it's been awhile since I've posted a party or two. But trust me, I've had a party or two or three or more. So I thought I should at least give you a little inspiration for your Christmas table.

Last year I decided on Christmas décor that was not the traditional red and green.

Black and White Themed Christmas!

As you can see, I ventured away from the traditional. But I absolutely loved the crisp black and white stripes along with the snowflakes.

And I'm pretty sure you know how it all started. Walking around Hobby Lobby and finding treasures I could use for later. I didn't know how, but I did know I would make it happen.

The stripe charger plates I found on clearance at the end of summer. So knowing I had those charger plates packed away, when I found the stripe napkins I knew I could add them to my unknown plan.

The napkins actually had a red, yellow, blue and green tassel sewn on each corner. So I just cut them off and ended with a nice crisp black and white stripe napkin.

I didn't take a photo, but I found a jumbo Hershey Kiss chocolate that fit inside the box perfectly. So I added it to the inside of the box and tied it up with a bow. Which conveniently, the bow came with the box.

Each box was topped with a white wooden snowflake.

The black wooden Merry Christmas sign fit down the center of the table along with different sized black and white snowflakes.

And the black and white stripe table runner I had in my linen cabinet a/k/a storage bin.

Along with the black and white snowflakes down the center of the table, I used wooden white snowflakes at each place setting on top of each black box.

And black wooden candlesticks with white candles.

The truth be told, it was the black letters that started the whole black and white theme.

These letters. N O E L

On clearance.

Yep, I found black letters on clearance and sat on the floor until I could find enough letters to spell out something. Something for a party. And low and behold, I found NOEL. So I packed them away until I had a vision in my mind for the party.

All the dishes were filled with a few appetizers we could munch on while dinner was being prepared.

And also a little sparkling beverage.

I placed black velvet Christmas trees on the top of a shadow box lined with black velvet. And striped straws in small beverage glasses.

A small festive sign on the side.

Ad the plates and napkins for appetizers.

So what do you think of the crisp black and white themed Christmas party?

May all your Christmases be white...and black stripe!

  2. I love the non-traditional but somehow you pulled it off to still feel like Christmas. Only the partiologist could do that.
