April Showers bring May Flowers...and Graduations. I thought I would share a graduation cake that you will have plenty of time to make for your upcoming graduate.
A Diploma Cake!
Would you believe it's a cake roll?
Quite fitting for a rolled diploma don't you think?
Just wrap it in fondant and you'll have the perfect sweet to hand out at the end of the ceremony.
Start by making the Cake Log following the instructions HERE.
After you've made the cake, wrap in saran and freeze until you're ready to wrap.
Roll white Wilton fondant, cutting to size to fit the cake roll.
(Leave the cake roll in saran until you measure it to fit)
Cut the numbers 2014, a long strip and a bow out of red Wilton fondant.
I used a bow cutter and formed the loops with paint brush handles.
After wrapping the cake roll in white fondant, lay the long red strip across the serving plate.
Place the diploma cake on the red strip and wrap the strip around the cake.
Seal with a little glue (water).
Add the bow and the numbers.
And Congratulations...You're Done!
Great cake for graduation and rolling up a cake in fondant has got to be easier than covering a cake in fondant and smoothing it out. Love it and pinning:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth! Rolling is MUCH easier then covering, now I'll want to make all my cakes into logs!
