The Partiologist: Lace Wrapped Brownies!

Lace Wrapped Brownies!

Are you in love with Cake Lace?  After deciding upon using lots of lace in the décor for the Bridal shower, I wanted to incorporate it into the desserts.  Edible lace that is.  But how?  I made several styles of Cake Lace and starting putting it with everyday desserts.  I finally found the perfect combo...I think it took these brownies from Wow to Wowza!

Cake Lace Brownies!

If you've got a little patience, you'll be able to create these lace wrapped brownies.

With the added rose and leaf, I just loved them!

Everything is edible.

Don't you love the look?

Here's how they were created.

Bake up your favorite recipe for brownies.

Once they come out of the oven, gently smooth over the top with a fondant smoother.

Let completely cool to room temp, but do not refrigerate.

Make a batch of ganache, let cool then pour over the top of the brownies.

Jiggle the pan, making it perfectly smooth.

Let the ganache set until frim.

Cut circles with a 2" cookie cutter, removing the brownie gently, pushing it from the bottom of the brownie out of the cutter.

Don't touch the top of the ganache or it will ruin the smooth finish.

Make the fondant roses using a mold.  These can be made up ahead of time and saved until needed.

Also, make the strips of cake lace using a mold.  The cake lace can be made ahead of time, just be sure to store in an air tight container.

Take one brownie and measure the size for the cake lace.  Cut several strips of cake lace, one for each brownie.

Wrap the cake lace around the brownie and secure with royal icing or a dab of chocolate ganache.

Add a bit of royal icing to the back of the fondant rose and add to the front of the brownie.

Finish it off with a royal icing green leaf.

It's just another way I love gardening.

  1. So pretty! Do you eat the lace or do you peel it off? How does it taste?

    1. You can eat the lace or peel it off. I think most peeled it off, however I'm not sure... It really doesn't have much of a taste, just a little touch of sweet.
