The Partiologist: Gingerbread House Decorating Party!

Gingerbread House Decorating Party!

It's now a tradition for me to host the Gingerbread House Decorating. This year I decided to host a Gingerbread House Decorating PARTY! Complete with a Gingerbread House Invitation. They were a little time consuming to make, but I only had to make three.

Gingerbread House Decorating Party!

It's a gingerbread house decorating party and you're invited!

I found the perfect envelopes after much online research.

And then cut every piece with my Cricut and glued it all together.

After printing the invitation on the back.

It wasn't easy, but I got it to work. Then I added the snow. Like all over the office too, but not on purpose.

Good thing I only needed three.

I decided to use my gingerbread house wall decal... which I didn't even remember I had. It came in pieces. A lot of pieces. After the party I peeled it all off, then my sister said why didn't you leave it up? I didn't even think about leaving it up, I kind of wish I had.

See how cute it looked? But it's gone now. Just like I threw my carved pumpkin away before Halloween.

Fortunately, I am The Partiologist and could go into my storage and find everything I needed to make this party happen.

Yes, all the décor you see in this post I had in storage waiting for a party.

But let me give you a bit of advice...buy the PRE-Made gingerbread house. These were a Gingerbread Estate and a bit tricky to piece together. If you decide to build your own, here's another bit of advice...use a hot glue gun if you're in a hurry. Unless of course you eat your house and don't like the taste of glue.

Upon entering the kitchen, the island held the Gingerbread houses to be decorated and the desserts to be eaten. Yes, I do know it's a lot of desserts for five people, but in my mind it's not a party unless there are a lot of desserts to choose from!

The desserts are my favorite. Always have been and always will be.

Gingerbread men dipped in chocolate and trimmed with sprinkles. And the coconut macaroons were decorated with Gingerbread themed stickers.

And because it is all the rage, I made cocoa bombs drizzled with chocolate and sprinkled with gingerbread men.

Mini chocolate coated pretzels were drizzled and topped with trees. The gingerbread cupcakes were dipped in chocolate ganache, before adding the frosting and homemade fondant gingerbread topper.

Definitely sugar and spice and everything nice.

But first dinner. Homemade soup, salad and bread.

And the galvanized décor was carried throughout the party.

Oh what fun I had when finding all the galvanized Christmas stuff!

It's the start of the 2020 Christmas season and I'm going to make the best of it!

After dinner, it was time to decorate. Along with the candy included in the Gingerbread House kit, I added a bit of my own. Thanks to my cupboards.

When I purchased this deer candle holder I had something in mind, let me give you a hint...it's not candles.

I had always planned to have it hold caramel apples dipped in chocolate. Isn't that what everyone would think?

I even got them to share their apple with me!

Every year I buy Advent calendars. This year I made Advent calendars!

When I came up with the idea, I didn't realize it may be a bit time consuming. I had great fun finding the little treasures (I even made a spread sheet so I could remember what I put in each box). But then making the tags, putting together 100 boxes and tying with the string, priceless!

I wrapped them in galvanized themed gift bags. I guess you could say we had a galvanized day!

Will you be decorating a gingerbread house this year?
