The Partiologist: Beach Themed Oreo's

Beach Themed Oreo's

It's another summer of fun filled days on the beach.  Or in my case, fun filled days in the kitchen making beach themed sweets.  Either way, something about the beach makes me happy.  Mostly to look at because I really don't like getting sand stuck all over my feet.
However, I do like sand on my Oreo's, which leads me to these.

And don't you worry, the sand is completely edible because it's brown sugar.
In fact, the entire beach is edible.

And now I almost feel like I spent the day at the beach, not in the kitchen.  Just kidding.

Unless you have a beach nearby, why not make Beach Themed Oreo's?

Just a few items to get you started.

Oreo's.

Oreo cookie mold.

Wilton blue candy melts.

After melting the blue candy melts, fill the bottom and up the sides of the cookie mold.

Add an Oreo to the top of the candy melts and press down.

Add additional candy melts to the top of the Oreo.

Continue filling all the molds and place in freezer until solid.

Next, make tiny sea shells with a silicone mold.

Melt light pink candy melts and spoon into sea shell mold, removing excess from the top.

Place in freezer until solid and remove from mold.

Set aside.

Remove cookies from the mold.

Pipe a white squiggle line of white frosting across the Oreo with a #4 Wilton round tip.

Using a paint brush, brush the white down making the wave.

Let the frosting set to form a crust.

Next spread a bit of Karo Syrup across the top of the wave, making a sticky surface.

Sprinkle the top of the Karo Syrup with a small pinch of brown sugar.

Add frosting to the back side of each sea shell and stick on the cookie.

Now they're ready for packaging.  Because wouldn't they make a great beach wedding favor?

Tie with a piece of rope and you're all set.

Enjoy!

It's a Shore Thing!

    1. I'm pretty sure they could be made a couple weeks in advance, because the candy melt coating seals the Oreo cookie.
